Watch The TED Talk

Over the last few years, we’ve learned that having more humor in your life isn’t about being funny. It’s about adopting a mindset of levity. (Also: wine helps.)

Recently, we got back on stage for the first time in almost two years(!) to give a TED talk: Why great leaders take humor seriously. It’s about why we need humor now more than ever, and how we can all have more of it.

We hope this 9-minute talk will help lift people, combat zoom and covid fatigue, and create more joy in the world.

There's a mistaken belief in today's working world that leaders need to be serious all the time to be taken seriously. The research tells a different story. Based on the course they teach at Stanford's Graduate School of Business, behavioral scientist Jennifer Aaker and corporate strategist Naomi Bagdonas delve into the surprising power of humor: why it's a secret weapon to build bonds, power, creativity and resilience -- and how we can all have more of it.
